- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Recently our mother had a simple eye exam with Great River Eye Clinic. The test was conducted by Dr. Malchow's (a male Doctor). My sister had accompanied her as she suffers from Dementia.Insensitive.... is a gross understatement in describing the good doctors comments. 1) So....you have Alzheimer's huh? 2) Recommending no surgery for a year or two "IF SHE LIVES THAT LONG"? What????? Who says things like that? She sees doubles at times and was able to correctly identify 1 out of 5 letters on a chart. The charts I've seen that have 5 letters are 20/40 and the good doctor claims 1 of 5 is 20/40? Seems there may be an ethics issue with this guy.
